ExxonMobil is looking to secure seafloor seismic services to enhance its activities at the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana where it has found more than 11 billion barrels of oil equivalent resources since 2015.
The company in a public request for information (RFI) said the suppliers must provide Ocean Bottom Nodes (OBN) as seismic receivers, which will be deployed via remotely operated vehicles (ROV) at water depths between 500 and 2500 meters.

Deployment and recovery of OBNs will require a dedicated node vessel. The deployment area is expected to be at least 650 square kilometers on a uniform grid.
Suppliers must also demonstrate experience and capability in managing such large areas. Additionally, providers must be capable of deploying, operating, recovering, and maintaining a fleet of 2650 or more nodes simultaneously.

Exxon said this initiative aims to enhance its exploration and data collection efforts within the Stabroek Block, where it is the operator with 45% interest. Co-venturers Hess and CNOOC holds 30% and 25% interest respectively.
