MODEC is looking for companies in Guyana to provide laboratory equipment calibration and preventive maintenance services aboard the Errea Wittu floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which is expected to arrive in the country this week ahead of its planned start-up later this year.

The request was posted on the Local Content Register on August 19. The scope of works includes annual calibration, maintenance reporting, and corrective repair assessments. Additionally, calibration will be conducted offshore where possible and onshore when required, with certificates documenting measurement uncertainty and supporting analysis.

MODEC is considering suppliers with quality certifications, including International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 and ISO 17025, as part of its technical evaluation.

The company also requires calibration certificates to include measurement uncertainty and be supported by critical analysis reports. Suppliers must also document preventive maintenance and report any equipment requiring corrective work.

The Errea Wittu will be the fifth FPSO to begin operations in Guyana and the first being built by MODEC for ExxonMobil and its co-venturers. The vessel will help develop the Uaru field in the Stabroek Block and is expected to begin production before the end of 2026.

Uaru is a US$12.7 billion project targeting more than 800 million barrels of recoverable oil. It is expected to produce up to 250,000 b/d from up to 44 wells.

The Stabroek Block is operated by ExxonMobil, which holds a 45% interest. Chevron, through its Guyana subsidiary Hess, holds 30% and CNOOC holds 25%.
