Chevron, SBM and Schlumberger among big name companies onboard for GIPEX 2018

Several more big name companies in the oil and gas industry have signaled their intent to be part of a major petroleum summit taking place in Guyana next month. The South American country now regarded as the next oil and gas hotspot in the region will host the Guyana International Petroleum Summit and Exhibition (GIPEX) from February 7 to 9 at the Marriott Hotel in Georgetown.

US oil major Chevron Corporation, and the world’s largest oilfield services company; Schlumberger Limited, are now confirmed Gold Sponsors of the event. They have joined other players in the industry supporting GIPEX in that category such as Repsol, CGX Energy and ExxonMobil Guyana joint venture partners; Hess and CNOOC Nexen. ExxonMobil Guyana officially came on board in December as a Strategic Partner of the signature event.

Other Gold Sponsors include Mid-Atlantic Oil & Gas Inc., JHI Associates Inc. and the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry Ltd (GBTI).

Telecommunications giant; Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) is the official telecommunications and technology sponsor of the event

Key contractors of ExxonMobil working on the Liza Phase 1 development project set to bring first oil for Guyana in 2020 are also onboard. They include; TechnipFMC and SBM Offshore.  TechnipFMC was awarded a contract for subsea equipment while SBM offshore is spearheading the development of the FPSO Liza Destiny.

Over 100 companies and 350 delegates have already confirmed participation in the inaugural event.
