ExxonMobil Guyana Limited (EMGL) is seeking to identify suppliers to support emergency response equipment management for its oil and gas operations offshore Guyana, the company said in a request for information (RFI).

The RFI, published on April 29, outlines plans for a goods and services agreement covering the management of spill response facilities and equipment staged at designated shore bases. It also includes maintenance of surface and subsurface response systems.

EMGL said the scope includes the requirement to “manage day-to-day operations for spill response facilities and equipment staged at designated EMGL shorebase(s).”

The company is also seeking contractors to “manage the maintenance of surface and subsurface spill response equipment, including inspection, recertification, repairs, provision of spare parts, OEM component replacement, and preparation of auditable reports.”

Suppliers will be required to support emergency readiness activities. These include “mobilization and deployment of spill response equipment to designated quayside location(s)” and “annual on-water deployment exercise and return to readiness status.”

The scope also covers stakeholder engagement and training. EMGL said contractors must facilitate “collaboration with stakeholders including but not limited to government agencies, energy producers” and provide “training related to industry practices, equipment utilization and/or response systems.”

The initiative targets operational readiness as offshore activity expands. ExxonMobil is the operator of the Stabroek Block, where more than 30 commercial discoveries have been made since 2015.

Production started in December 2019 and continues to increase, driving demand for additional support services.
