Dear Editor,
I must commend the Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber and the Government Technical Institute for helping young Guyanese gain real skills for jobs in the oil and gas industry. This partnership is a positive and timely move, as the country continues to experience rapid growth.
The focus on training, certification, and hands on learning will help build a stronger local workforce and ensure more young Guyanese are ready for the jobs that are becoming available at home and abroad. With more opportunities like these, our young people will receive the technical skills needed to benefit the country’s expanding industries.
These partnerships bridge the gap between local and international companies, fostering knowledge transfer and raising our industry standards to build a workforce that can support itself.
I applaud both organisations for taking this important step and encourage continued collaborations that support education, skills development, and long-term national growth. Programmes like these helps create a more inclusive and prosperous Guyana, where our people are fully equipped to shape the country’s future.
Sincerely,
Samantha Browne
