A new digital registry has been launched to help Guyanese professionals make their services more visible to companies, procurement teams, and individual clients.
Workforce Guyana, a new local venture, has opened early registration for professionals ahead of the public activation of its search platform on June 22, 2026. The platform is designed as a public online directory where Guyanese workers and service providers can create profiles, list their skills, showcase past work, and connect directly with people seeking their services.
The venture is targeting a broad range of local talent. This includes accountants, information technology providers, consultants, administrative professionals, healthcare workers, plumbers, carpenters, contractors, and other skilled tradespeople.

The platform enters a labor and services market in Guyana where many professionals find work through word-of-mouth referrals, Facebook posts and personal networks, with limited formal digital visibility for many workers and service providers.
Workforce Guyana was founded by Michael Leonard, a Guyanese creative entrepreneur and communication strategist with nearly 20 years of experience in design, advertising, marketing, and software development.
Leonard said the idea came from his own experience working as an agency hire, independent service provider, and client-seeking tradesmen, contractors, and specialized professionals.

“Guyana does not have a talent problem; we have a visibility problem,” Leonard explained.
Unlike social media platforms, Workforce Guyana is not built around feeds, posts, or algorithms. It is being developed as a searchable professional registry. Users will be able to visit workforce.gy, search for a specific skill or service, and browse local profiles.
Registered professionals will receive custom profile links, which can be used on business cards, emails, and other professional material. They will also be able to upload examples of past work, display service rates, and include professional biographies.
The company said the platform will be free for Guyanese professionals to join and use. It will not take commissions from service providers. Clients will be able to contact professionals directly through WhatsApp.
“Whether you are a corporate accountant managing financial portfolios, an IT service provider setting up network infrastructure, or a highly skilled plumber or carpenter keeping a construction site moving, your skills deserve a professional seat at the table,” Leonard stated.
He said local professionals can be overlooked when they do not have an organized way to present their services online.

“To a major company or an international firm looking at our market, these professionals are effectively invisible if they are only buried in Facebook comments. I built this platform to give our entire local workforce, from the office to the job site, the serious infrastructure they need to be found and hired,” Leonard said.
Workforce Guyana is currently operating in its pioneer phase. During this period, professionals are being invited to register early, complete their profiles, and secure their custom profile links before the public search engine is activated.
The platform is open to Guyanese professionals across industries. Registration is available at workforce.gy/register.
