TechnipFMC has completed the largest loadout of Subsea 2.0® manifolds in the company’s history for ExxonMobil’s Whiptail project offshore Guyana.
The company said on August 25 that its team in Brazil loaded six manifolds weighing a combined 960 tons. The equipment will support the US$12.7 billion development in the Stabroek Block.
“It’s our largest-ever load out of Subsea 2.0® manifolds!” TechnipFMC said.
The company said the equipment was loaded during a single operation that was completed safely.

“Our team in Brazil successfully completed the load out of six manifolds for the Whiptail project in Guyana, totaling 960 tons of equipment in a single operation, safely executed and ready to support another major offshore development,” TechnipFMC said.
More than 60 professionals worked on the operation. TechnipFMC credited their coordination, expertise, and commitment for completing the milestone.
Whiptail is ExxonMobil’s sixth approved development in the Stabroek Block. The project will include up to 10 drill centers and 48 production and injection wells connected to the Jaguar floating production, storage, and offloading vessel through subsea infrastructure.
The Jaguar FPSO is designed to produce up to 250,000 barrels of oil per day. It will use SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward® multipurpose hull design.
ExxonMobil expects Whiptail to begin producing oil by the end of 2027. The development is expected to increase Guyana’s offshore production capacity to more than 1.4 million barrels per day.
ExxonMobil operates the Stabroek Block with a 45% interest. Chevron, through Hess, holds 30%, while CNOOC holds the remaining 25%.
