Dril-Quip Inc. and TRINPET Guyana Inc. have entered into a License and Services Agreement that includes the construction of a state-of-the-art tubular fabrication, maintenance and storage facility in Georgetown, Guyana.

OilNOW understands the project is scheduled to commence this year with completion targeted for 2021.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has resulted in a number of projects being delayed in recent months including those in Guyana’s emerging oil and gas industry.

The new facility will supply services and support to the already thriving local oil and gas industry, as well as create jobs and provide growth opportunities for many Guyanese citizens, Dril-Quip said in a statement.

“The future is bright for Guyana and our goal is to utilize our technologies and Oil Country Tubular Goods expertise to further support the growth of the local workforce through jobs, training, supply chains, local skilled trade, social projects and career progression opportunities,” Clifton Collier, Business Development Management for Dril-Quip, explained. “This is a great time for Guyana and Dril-Quip is excited to make a larger contribution in partnership with TRINPET Guyana.”

Dril-Quip is a manufacturer of offshore drilling and production equipment suited for use in deepwater applications. Dril-Quip also provides technical advisory services, reconditioning services and running tools for use in connection with the installation and retrieval of its products. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Dril-Quip has manufacturing facilities in the United States, Brazil, Scotland and Singapore.

TRINPET Guyana Inc. is a subsidiary of Trinidad-based Trinpet Services which has been supplying oil and gas operators in the twin-island republic for several decades.
