DOF Group ASA has secured a three-year contract for the Skandi Involver to support subsea work in Guyana’s Stabroek Block, where ExxonMobil Guyana Limited continues to advance offshore development activity.

The Norway-based offshore and subsea services company announced on June 26 that the award was made through its North America subsea region. Work is expected to start early in the third quarter of 2026. General Manager, Guyana Division of DOF, Keith Lewis confirmed to OilNOW that the works are for the Stabroek Block.

DOF described the award as a “Very Large contract” for the Skandi Involver. The firm period is three years, with two one-year options.

Under the agreement, DOF will perform subsea construction, inspection, and maintenance activities. The company will also provide well intervention support.

The Skandi Involver is a DP3 vessel equipped with 400MT (metric tonnes) and 100MT cranes. DOF said the vessel also has integrated remotely operated vehicle and survey services.

Mons S. Aase, Chief Executive Officer of DOF Group ASA, said the award strengthens the company’s position in field development support. “This award further underlines DOF’s strong position in the Field Development Support segment and further strengthens our position in a key region,” Aase said.

The contract adds to the chain of offshore services supporting activity in the Stabroek Block, the only oil-producing acreage offshore Guyana. The block is operated by ExxonMobil Guyana Limited, with Hess Guyana Exploration Limited and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Limited as co-venturers.

ExxonMobil is seeking environmental authorization for a 35-well exploration and appraisal campaign in the Stabroek Block. That proposed campaign is expected to run from the second quarter of 2028 to the fourth quarter of 2033.
