Crude production offshore Guyana averaged about 914,000 barrels per day (b/d) in the first quarter of 2026, as output from the ExxonMobil-operated Stabroek Block’s four producing projects remained stable.

Government data show total production reached approximately 82.2 million barrels for the quarter, with monthly averages easing slightly from 918,000 b/d in February and 915,000 b/d in January to about 910,000 b/d in March.

March output totaled 28.2 million barrels, up from 25.7 million barrels in February, reflecting the longer production window in the month.

The quarter’s production was distributed across the four producing developments: Liza 1 (129,000 b/d), Liza 2 (265,000 b/d), Payara (264,000 b/d), and Yellowtail (257,000 b/d).

With crude prices trading above US$100 per barrel amid tensions in the Middle East, the steady production profile translates into elevated revenue generation.

Further upside to production is already in view.

At Yellowtail, ExxonMobil has indicated that output could exceed its initial 250,000 b/d design target, noting that the project has already demonstrated production of up to 264,000 b/d in February. The company has proposed, to the government, a study to evaluate the potential to lift capacity toward 290,000 b/d, which, if realized, would incrementally raise national output without the need for a new development.

More significantly, the Uaru project is expected to come online later this year. Once operational, it is designed to add roughly 250,000 b/d of new capacity, pushing Guyana’s total production above 1.15 million b/d.

On the gas front, completion of the Gas-to-Energy project infrastructure onshore, expected later this year, would enable the delivery of about 50 million cubic feet per day of associated gas to shore from the Liza field.

All production offshore Guyana is operated by ExxonMobil, which holds a 45% interest in the Stabroek Block, alongside Hess (30%)—now part of Chevron—and CNOOC (25%).
