A Ghanaian technology firm known for its expertise in the oil and gas sector has teamed up with a Guyanese/Canadian company to offer offshore monitoring services for the South-American nation’s growing energy industry.
West Coast Gas Ghana, a multinational company with a strong presence in sub-Saharan Africa, is partnering with E-Magic Incorporated, a global technology enterprise founded by Tony Harris, a Canadian with Guyanese roots. This collaboration was formalised during the Ghana-Guyana Local Content and Capacity Building Conference, last Thursday.

By combining E-Magic Inc’s technical expertise with West Coast Gas Ghana’s experience, the partners aim to provide the government of Guyana with direct oversight in the natural resources sector and real-time data for a comprehensive review.
Interestingly, the venture falls outside the 40 service areas defined by Guyana’s Local Content Act of 2021. This uniqueness emphasizes the pioneering nature of the partnership.
E-Magic Incorporated will primarily handle workforce recruitment, ensuring that a significant percentage of the team hails from Guyana. The company revealed its intent to have at least 75% of its senior management team hailing from Guyana, and over 90% of the staff employed by the joint venture will be Guyanese as well.

They are confident that by combining their TwinWorX digital twins platform with West Coast Gas Ghana’s industry knowledge, they will revolutionise how Guyana monitors its oil production.
In addition, West Coast Ghana’s Chief Executive Officer, Emmanuel Johnson believes that the collaboration with E-Magic will reshape the impact of technology on production processes, risk mitigation, and sustainable growth.
