Stena Drilling’s drillship, Stena Carron, has achieved record-breaking operational results offshore Guyana in 2025, according to the company in a January 22 LinkedIn post.

Stena reported that, in Guyana, the vessel completed a 17-well top-hole campaign, with seven wells drilled under three days. It said the campaign delivered an impressive 3.1-day average batch time. This was driven by optimized dual operations.

In a separate operational milestone, the drillship also delivered strong casing and testing performance offshore the country. According to Stena Drilling, Stena Carron “ran the longest 20″ casing string offshore Guyana at 1,600m, supported by “digital well planning and improved testing processes.”

The company said these improvements reduced test times “from 12 hours to 7,” while “increasing efficiency while maintaining safety”.

Stena Drilling currently operates two rigs offshore Guyana alongside Noble Drilling’s fleet, supporting ExxonMobil’s exploration, appraisal, and development drilling activities.
