Dear Editor,

Guyana’s oil and gas sector has often been described as resilient and profitable, even amid industry challenges. This resilience is evident in ongoing oil and gas operations, which demonstrate Guyana can weather competitiveness and maintain oil profitability.

A resilient oil and gas sector means translating production into national development, regardless of varying challenges. Guyana’s oil revenues have contributed to funding healthcare, education, infrastructure, and social services, even during periods of price fluctuation, which I believe, as a growing country, is very commendable.

The ability to continue meeting the needs of the people consistently seems to be the approach taken by both the Government and ExxonMobil. Guyana’s growing reputation as a resilient oil producer is encouraging. If both operations and finances are managed wisely, the country can use its oil wealth to build a stable and sustainable future for all Guyanese.

Sincerely,

Samuel Williams
