Specifically, suppliers must be registered under Guyana’s Local Content Act 2021 and provide a valid certificate from the Local Content Secretariat. Companies are also required to submit information on their ownership and management structure, technical capability, financial stability, health, safety and environmental systems, and local operating presence or a commitment to establish one in Guyana.

The proposed contract term is 12 months, with an option for extension by both parties. Stena is asking interested suppliers to confirm their intent to submit by email by July 1, 2026.

Stena Carron is one of the key drillships operating in ExxonMobil Guyana’s Stabroek Block. The sixth-generation deepwater drillship has worked on major discoveries in the block, including Hammerhead and Longtail, and has completed multiple well operations supporting offshore development in Guyana.

The vessel is designed for ultra-deepwater operations, capable of drilling in water depths of up to about 3,000 meters and reaching total depths of more than 10,000 meters.

Over its years in the Stabroek Block, the Stena Carron completed more than 85 well operations, drilling more than 241,000 meters.
