Saipem secures US$2 billion offshore contract for Saudi Arabia’s Marjan field

Saipem has been awarded a new offshore contract worth approximately US$2 billion under its Long-Term Agreement (LTA) with Saudi Aramco. 

The contract involves the development of the Marjan field in Saudi Arabia and follows a competitive bidding process and the fulfillment of client conditions.

Saipem to take over China-built | OilNOW 

Saipem’s work will include the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of wellhead platforms’ topsides and jackets, tie-in platform structures, rigid flowlines, and submarine composite and fiber optic cables. 

The company will utilize its local offshore fleet, advanced dynamic positioning vessels, and cutting-edge welding technology, while fabrication will be carried out at Saipem’s local STAR facility in Dammam, boosting local industry capabilities.

Saipem said the contract strengthens its long-standing presence in Saudi Arabia, adding to recent awards from Saudi Aramco.
