The Suriname Energy, Oil & Gas Summit & Exhibition will add a dedicated Local Content Forum in 2026 as the South American country prepares for its first offshore oil and gas development.

The sixth edition of SEOGS will be held from June 23-26, 2026, in Paramaribo, Suriname. It will be hosted by Staatsolie under the theme “Unlocking Energy, Empowering Nations.”

The Local Content Forum will run on days two and three of the event. It will be free to attend. Organizers said it will bring together government representatives, international oil companies, local businesses, educators, and industry experts.

The forum will examine how local content can be implemented to create lasting opportunities for Surinamese people and companies.

The addition comes as Suriname moves from offshore discoveries toward development. Local content is expected to become a bigger policy issue as the country seeks to ensure more domestic participation in the oil and gas sector.

SEOGS 2026 will run alongside the Executive Summit and Technical Conference. Organizers said the event is expected to draw more than 230 speakers, 260 exhibitors, 1,200 delegates, and 14,000 visitors.

The summit is described by organizers as Suriname’s market-leading energy and offshore event. It is also billed as the largest energy event in the Caribbean.

Suriname’s first offshore development, GranMorgu will be operated by TotalEnergies and will feature subsea wells tied back to an all-electric drive FPSO being delivered by SBM Offshore in partnership with Technip Energies. The vessel will have an oil production capacity of 220,000 barrels of oil per day, with first oil expected in 2028.
