Italian engineering and drilling firm Saipem is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for catering services at its Vreed-en-Hoop Shore Base Inc. (VEHSI) facility. Saipem’s operation at VEHSI spans 81,000 square meters.
VEHSI is a collaboration between NRG Holdings, a 100% Guyanese-owned company, and Belgian partner Jan De Nul. ExxonMobil contracted VEHSI to support the Yellowtail project, expected to produce its first oil in 2025.
Saipem, a global player operating in over 60 countries with a workforce of approximately 32,000 from 130 nationalities, has established itself as a key contributor to technological innovation and sustainability in the industry. The company has supported several field development projects in Guyana, including Liza 1, Liza 2, Payara, Yellowtail, Uaru, and the upcoming Whiptail project.
In Liza 1, Saipem provided 17 subsea trees, five manifolds, and 25 jumpers, while for Liza 2, it delivered 30 subsea trees, eight manifolds, and 46 jumpers. For the Payara project, Saipem supplied 41 subsea trees, 11 manifolds, and 75 jumpers. In the Yellowtail project, Saipem is set to deliver 51 subsea trees, 12 manifolds, and 72 jumpers.
Saipem has maintained a presence in Guyana since June 2019.
