The Guyana Local Content Summit is back in 2026 and will be held from June 2-3 at the Houston Event Centre, Four Points Sheraton. Discussions have been planned around policy developments, financing, workforce challenges and business opportunities linked to Guyana’s oil sector.
The event is being organized by MBW, Prestige Management Consultants, and the Ministry of Natural Resources through the Local Content Secretariat. This year’s summit will be held under the theme, “From Policy to Prosperity: Unlocking Opportunities through Collaboration”.
OilNOW is back as the event’s official media partner.
According to a press release issued May 15, the event will bring together policymakers, business support organizations, licensees, subcontractors, industry experts, vendors, suppliers, investors, bankers and private sector representatives.

Organizers stated that the program will focus on “practical and solution-driven discussions surrounding the future direction of local content and the broader impact of the petroleum sector on Guyana’s economy”.
The release stated that discussions will address anticipated legislative and policy developments, changes to the local content framework, financing for businesses, workforce and skills challenges, and procurement opportunities within the sector.
Organizers also noted that the summit will examine how Guyanese can prepare for opportunities tied to the oil industry.
“Another key area of focus this year will be how Guyanese can better prepare for and navigate opportunities within the Oil & Gas Sector while also highlighting how local content can stimulate participation wider sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, hospitality, ICT, transportation, construction, and professional services,” the release stated.
The organizers said the event will also review the impact of the Local Content legislation on Guyana’s business environment over the past four years.
“This will allow attendees to understand the benefits of becoming Local Content certified and how to position themselves to better identify and capitalize on available and upcoming opportunities,” the release stated.
